Wholewheat pav is great to have with pav bhaji. But let’s face it. Cooking pav bhaji at home from scratch is a hassle for many. Further, there is always some pav lying around that you do not know how to use. So, we have some mouth-watering snacks recipes that use our wholewheat pav.
These taste the best when served hot and you can cook them in less than 10 minutes! So no more munching on unhealthy chips or other snacks. Try these recipes yourselves and you will love them.
Stuffed pav masala
Ingredients:
- The Baker’s Dozen Whole wheat Pav – 4
- Ginger -1 inch, finely chopped
- Garlic cloves – 4, finely chopped
- Lemon juice -1 tsp
- Capsicum -1/4 cup, roughly chopped
- Green chillies -2, finely chopped
- Tomato -1/2 cup, roughly chopped
- Onion -1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Red chilli powder – 1/4 tsp
- Pav bhaji masala powder -1tbsp (or garam masala)
- Cumin powder -1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder -1/4 tsp
- Chat masala powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Butter – 4 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – 1tbsp, chopped
Directions:
- Slice the whole wheat pav in half.
- Toast the pav with butter in a pan or tawa and keep aside.
- To another pan, add 2 tbsp of butter and let it melt.
- Add ginger, garlic, and green chillies and saute lightly.
- Add the onions and saute till they are golden brown.
- Add the tomatoes and capsicum and let them cook.
- Add all the spices cumin powder, coriander powder, chat masala, and salt.
- Let the veggies and spices cook and absorb the flavours.
- Before turning off the heat, add the coriander leaves and mix well.
- After turning off the heat, add the lemon juice.
- Stuff this mixture in the pav and toast it again with 1 tbsp butter.
- Serve hot.
2. Corn and Spinach creamy sliders
Ingredients:
- The Baker’s Dozen Whole wheat Pav – 4
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Garlic cloves – 2, finely chopped
- Sweet corn – 1 cup
- Spinach leaves – 1 handful, roughly chopped or torn in shreds
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
Directions:
- In a pan, add 1 tbsp butter and saute the garlic.
- Add the sweet corn and spinach.
- Add salt and pepper and mix well.
- Cook the veggies till spinach starts to shrivel.
- Turn off the heat and keep the mixture aside.
- Slice the whole wheat pav in half.
- On a pan or tawa, toast the pav lightly with butter.
- Apply mayonnaise on one side of the pav and stuff the pav with sweet corn and toast again.
- Serve hot.
3. Eggy wholewheat pav slider
Ingredients:
- The Baker’s Dozen Whole wheat Pav – 4
- Butter – 1 tbsp
- Tomato -1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Onion -1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Capsicum -1/4 cup, roughly chopped
- Coriander leaves – 1tbsp, chopped
- Boiled eggs – 4
- Cumin powder -1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder -1/4 tsp
- Chat masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Directions:
- Grate the boiled eggs in a bowl.
- Add the chopped onion, tomato, capsicum and coriander leaves.
- Add the spices and mix well.
- Slice the whole wheat pav in half.
- On a pan or tawa, toast the pav lightly with butter.
- Take off from the pan and stuff the pav with the egg mixture.
- Serve hot.
