3 vegetarian sandwiches with multigrain bread

Running late or feeling lazy, easy sandwiches are always the way out. They need just a few ingredients, anything you have on hand really. So, with minimum effort, you can put together an easy snack or breakfast. And, what if we tell you that you can make your sandwich healthy too? Sounds too good to be true, right? But, it is very easy to do by swapping your regular bread with our beloved Multigrain bread. With the goodness of sesame, flax, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds, we make these loaves with 100% whole wheat flour (atta). We believe in baking bread the way it should be. So, our Multigrain Bread (and other sliced bread) has no chemicals or added preservatives and makes you feel nourished on the inside.  So, are you ready for some tasty vegetarian sandwich recipes featuring our Multigrain Bread? Here we go! These recipes are simple to make but will definitely create a party in your mouth. 

1.Chinese style paneer sandwich 

Ingredients: 

  • Paneer -100 gm
  • The Baker’s Dozen Multigrain Bread slices – 6
  • Onion slices (as needed)
  • Tomato – 1,sliced
  • Capsicum – ½, sliced 
  • Chilli flakes 
  • Black pepper powder 
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp 
  • White vinegar – ½ tbsp or lemon juice from ½ lemon 
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp 
  • Sandwich spread of your choice 

Preparation steps:

  • Cut paneer in long think slices.
  • Add 1 tbsp oil in a pan and grill paneer until lightly golden. 
  • Brush the paneer slices with soy sauce and let them sizzle for a few seconds. Then add vinegar or lemon juice and remove the pan from the heat soon after. 
  • In another pan, add remaining oil and roast the vegetable slices lightly enough to get rid of the raw flavours while still keeping them crunchy. Roast them separately and don’t mix the veggies. 
  • To assemble the sandwiches, add a layer of your favourite sandwich spread on 3 slices of the multigrain bread.
  • Add the roasts onion rings, tomato slices, sliced capsicum in layers. 
  • Add paneer slices, chilli flakes, black pepper with a pinch of salt. 
  • Grate cheese as well if you wish. Cover these with the remaining 3 slices of multigrain bread. 
  • Toast the sandwiches with butter and enjoy! 

2. Mayo Sandwich 

Ingredients:

  • The Baker’s Dozen Multigrain Bread slices – 6 
  • Mayonaise – 3 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Tomato – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Capsicum – 1 small, finely chopped
  • Carrot – 1 small, finely chopped or grated 
  • Purple cabbage – ½, finely chopped
  • Chilli flakes
  • Black pepper powder 
  • Dried oregano seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter – 1 tbsp

Preparation steps:

  • Mix all the veggies in a bowl and add the mayonnaise. 
  • Add the salt, pepper, oregano seasoning, and chilli flakes.
  • Add generous amounts of this mixture on 3 of the multigrain bread slices. 
  • Cover these with the remaining 3 slices. 
  • Toast the sandwiches with butter and voila! 

3.Curry Potato Sandwich 

Ingredients:

  • The Baker’s Dozen Multigrain Bread slices – 6 
  • Oil – 3 tbsp 
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, finely chopped or crushed
  • Green chilli – 1, finely chopped
  • Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Capsicum – 1 big, finely chopped
  • Boiled potato – 2 cups, mashed 
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp 
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
  • Garam Masala – ½ tbsp
  • Cumin powder – ½ tbsp
  • Salt – ½ tbsp
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Half cup coriander leaves, 1 green chilli, and 1 clove of garlic for green chutney

 Preparation steps:

  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Add garlic and green chilli and saute.
  • Add onion and saute till translucent.
  • Add capsicum along with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder and salt.
  • Mix well and let the capsicum soften a little.
  • Add boiled mashed potatoes and cook for 1 minute.
  • For green chutney, put the ingredients in a mixer and blend. 
  • To assemble the sandwich, apply green chutney on all 6 of the multigrain bread slices. 
  • Add generous amounts of the mashed potatoes mixture and cover these with the remaining 3 slices of bread.
  • Toast these sandwiches in butter and serve hot!
