Chef Aditi’s Breakfast Recipes With TBD Sourdough Breads

A breakfast packed with the nutritious goodness of oats, barley, cornmeal and whole wheat is a great idea to have a charged-up morning. 

  • Four Grain – Spicy Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Four Grain is the best bread that you can use for making a grilled cheese sandwich. The crunchy seeds are perfect for giving your everyday sandwich that extra textural delight. Check out our recipe for a grilled cheese sandwich that packs a punch!

Ingredients:

  1. TBD Four Grain (sliced)
  2. Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
  3. Sriracha (or any other hot sauce) – ½ tsp
  4. Garlic Powder – ¼ tsp (optional)
  5. Butter – 1 tbsp
  6. Processed Cheese Slices

Procedure:

  1. Mix the mayonnaise, Sriracha/hot sauce and garlic powder together in a small bowl.
  2. Apply this mixture evenly on two slices of bread and place a cheese slice between them.
  3. Melt the butter on a hot pan or skillet.
  4. Grill the prepared sandwich on medium-high heat for around 2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Flip and cook until both the sides turn golden brown.
  6. Serve hot.
  • Blueberry Cranberry – French Toast

Cut the sweetness of a classic French toast with the tanginess of the berries in our Blueberry Cranberry Sourdough. Your Sundays will never been better. Here’s our recipe for making French toast:

Ingredients:

  1. TBD Blueberry Cranberry Sourdough (sliced)
  2. Eggs – 2
  3. Milk – ½ cup
  4. Sugar – 2 tbsp
  5. Cinnamon Powder – ½ tsp
  6. Vanilla Extract – ½ tsp
  7. Salt – 1 pinch
  8. Butter – 1 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. Mix all ingredients except the bread and butter together in a mixing bowl until well combined.
  2. Soak both sides of the bread in the prepared mixture for a few seconds until it absorbs the mixture well.
  3. Melt butter on a hot pan.
  4. Cook the soaked bread on both sides for around 2 minutes on medium-high heat until it turns golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with toppings of your choice like butter, maple syrup, fresh berries etc.
  • The Indian Sourdough – Grilled Veggie Sandwich

What is better than a desi, street-style sandwich? One that is made with our Indian Sourdough bread, of course! With the bread itself so scrumptious and Indian, this veggie sandwich will surely take you back to the memories of eating street food. The best thing about this sandwich is that both the bread and the stuffing are healthy as well as tasty due to the goodness of vegetables and moong dal.

Ingredients:

  1. TBD The Indian Sourdough
  2. Onion (diced) – ¼ cup
  3. Potato (peeled and diced) – ½ cup
  4. Carrot (peeled and diced) – ½ cup
  5. Capsicum (peeled and diced) – ½ cup
  6. Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
  7. Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  9. Salt – to taste
  10. Oil – 1 tsp
  11. Butter – 1 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. Heat a pan with oil and add the onion and ginger-garlic garlic paste. Sauté on medium heat for 2 minutes until the onions become soft.
  2. Add the potatoes, carrots, capsicum, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and sauté for one minute.
  3. Add ½ cup of water, stir and cover the pan with a lid.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes until all the vegetables become soft.
  5. Remove the lid and stir until most of the water evaporates and a semi-dry mixture is obtained. Remove from heat.
  6. Butter two slices of the bread and spread this vegetable mixture on one slice on the buttered side. Place the other slice on top with the unbuttered side facing upwards.
  7. Place this prepared sandwich in a preheated grill and cook for a few minutes until it becomes golden brown. If you do not have a grill, you can pan-fry it.
  8. Serve hot.
